Synopsis
The comedian and ‘Full House’ star was discovered dead in a hotel room in Florida on January 9.
He’d been in the neighborhood the night before as part of a stand-up tour.
“The authorities determined that Bob died as a result of head trauma,” the Saget family said.
“They believe he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, ignored it, and went to sleep. There was no use of drugs or alcohol.”
Saget, 65, was discovered on a hotel bed with no signs of foul play, authorities said last month.
After Saget failed to check out, a hotel security officer entered the room and called 911 when he discovered him unresponsive.
Deputies and paramedics arrived at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando and pronounced him dead.
Saget was best known for his roles on the sitcom ‘Full House’ as beloved single dad Danny Tanner and as the wisecracking host of ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos.’
Saget was on tour with his ‘I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour.’
He celebrated online after receiving warm audience reactions to his performances Friday in Orlando and Saturday in the Ponte Vedra Beach resort area.
“I’m back in the comedy business like I was when I was 26”.
“I guess I’m discovering my new voice and enjoying every minute of it “He’d posted on Instagram on Saturday.
Colleagues Pay Tribute
Saget’s death elicited an outpouring of love from fans and colleagues, who remembered him as both hilarious and extraordinarily kind.
The family said in a statement that they have been overwhelmed by “the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans” and that it has comforted them.
“As we mourn together, we ask everyone to remember Bob’s love and laughter, and the lessons he taught us all:
“To be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter,” his family said.
John Stamos, his Full House co-star, led the tributes, tweeting: “I’m shattered, devastated and completely taken aback. I’ll never have another friend like him again.”
“There was no sensitivity to anything else, but success was important to him,” Ellin said of Saget, whom he described as “gracious, sweet, and incredibly smart.”
“I saw Bob in a Rodney Dangerfield special on HBO 30 years ago,” “Entourage” creator Doug Ellin told The Washington Post.
“He was this kind of dirty comic, and then he did ‘Full House.'”
“When ‘The Aristocrats’ came out, people couldn’t believe Bob Saget was talking that way,” his friend and fellow comedian Gilbert Gottfried told The Washington Post.
“But for those who knew him, it’s hard to believe he spoke any other way.”

Was Bob Saget an Alcoholic?
Saget wasn’t much of a party animal.
He admitted to trying cocaine but wrote, “I’m anti-drugs, except for the ones I take for cholesterol, anxiety, a sleep disorder, and animal tranquilization.”
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Sherri Kramer, in 1982, and they had three daughters, Jennifer, Aubrey, and Lara.
However, the couple divorced in 1997, and he admitted to Stern, “We weren’t happy together.”
“The last couple years of our marriage, I was more of a flirter than I’d ever been in my life… it wasn’t about me being famous, it was about me being an idiot,” he continued.
He admitted to Stern that he dated women as young as their twenties, and he married TV host Kelly Rizzo, who was 23 years his junior, in 2018.
But, for many years, he embraced the bachelor lifestyle, engaging in risky behavior such as drinking and driving.
“I was a moron.” “One of those idiots who brags to people while drunk that he can drive better than drunk,” he wrote.
“I repeatedly committed a heinous crime against humanity by drinking and driving.
He admitted that he was divorced, stupid, occasionally drunk, and the luckiest a–hole in the world for not doing anything that hurt anyone.”
Bob blacked out while driving in 2003 and rolled up on the curb.
But he stopped drinking and driving cold turkey after a cop pulled him over for speeding on the Pacific Coast Highway.
He was on his way to retrieve his youngest daughter’s stuffed bunny, which she had left behind at Kramer’s house.
The officer let him go with a warning. “I’m grateful for his compassion to this day.”
