Erica Stoll is the wife of Rory McIlroy, who is still regarded as one of the best professional golfers in the world.

Erica Worked for PGA
Stoll previously worked for the PGA of America, a position she knew she wanted as soon as she graduated from college.

How Erica met McIlroy
Stoll met McIlroy at the Ryder Cup in 2012, when she was working as a PGA transport official. Stoll assisted McIlroy when he overslept due to a time zone miscalculation and nearly missed his tee time at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.
McIlory later recalled meeting Stoll for the first time during a Golf Channel interview in 2019.
“Erica was always the one checking us in and out that week. She was always at the car park over there because she worked in transportation.
But, yeah, it’s still fun to look around and reflect on that week, as well as all that has transpired since then. It’s really cool “he said.
The Proposal
McIlroy had planned to propose to Stoll in Paris, but the 2015 terrorist assault in the city nearly forced him to abandon his trip.
“We’d planned to go to Paris since May, and we’d always go.” Then what happened left us unclear about what to do.
So we decided to go, and if we didn’t like it, if we didn’t like the atmosphere, if we didn’t feel comfortable, we’d go somewhere else,” he told the Independent.
McIlroy, though, chose to proceed with his proposal as planned after arriving.
“We felt comfortable, but I still believed it may make the remainder of the journey even better, at least at the start.”.
So we went out to supper and that was the end of it. “It was a lovely trip, and a nice way to close the year,” he said.
Stoll and McIlroy Married
Stoll and McIlroy married on April 22, 2017, in a magnificent ceremony at Ashford Castle in County Mayo, Ireland.
According to E! News, the wedding was well guarded and had several A-list celebrity guests, including Stevie Wonder and actor Jamie Dornan.
Erica’s Pregnancy
Stoll and McIlroy were able to conceal their pregnancy for several months. McIlroy didn’t even reveal that they were expecting a child until Stoll was far into her third trimester.
On August 31, 2020, Stoll gave birth to her daughter Poppy Kennedy McIlroy in Jupiter, Florida. McIlroy revealed the news on Instagram, along with a black-and-white shot of Poppy gripping his pinky finger.
He titled it, “She is the one and only love of our lives. Mother and child are doing well.
Thank you very much to everyone at Jupiter Medical Center, especially Dr. Sasha Melendy, for your excellent care.”
