Christi Dembrowski, Johnny Depp elder sister, testified in court on April 12, 2022, during Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
Johnny filed a $50 million lawsuit against Amber in March 2019 after she wrote about surviving domestic violence for the Washington Post.
Jury selection began on the first day of the three-week trial between the Pirates of the Caribbean star and American actress Amber Heard in Virginia.
Dembrowski, 61, testified of their traumatic childhood as a result of their abusive mother, Betty Sue Palmer.
She informed the jury about her and her siblings’ upbringing in Lexington, Kentucky, as well as her “calm” father, John Christopher Depp.
Dembrowski remembered her mother getting angry with Johnny and throwing an ashtray at him.

Our mom was the polar opposite, very high strung, worried, anxious, and angry,” they said, adding that their parents had “two completely different personalities.”

Palmer was spotted with Depp at the Oscars, where he was nominated for “Best Actor” for his work in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Depp described her during her funeral as the “meanest human being I have ever experienced in my life.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2018, Depp referred to her as a “b***h on wheels.”
