The books in this library cover a wide range of topics, and the building has been renovated to reduce outside noise, making reading time even more enjoyable.

The Seal Harbor Library is located at 5 Main Street, Seal Harbor, Maine, and is open Monday through Saturday during the summer season. The institution is open from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., except on Thursdays when it is open from 3.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

9. Memorial Library of Jesup

There are numerous libraries in which you can explore and determine which is the best for you. Libraries should freak you out if you’re a novel freak.

The Jesup Memorial Library is open for extended hours. This is the main library in Bar Harbor, with over 38,000 books, 7,000 of which are available for borrowing.

You can also find DVD and VHS movies, as well as audiobooks, so you won’t have to look elsewhere for entertainment. Throughout the year, the Jesup library hosts concerts, book signings, and other cultural events.

11. The Somesville Historical Museum is Open to the Public

The Somesville Historical Museum opened in 1981 and has grown in popularity ever since.

Nowadays, the museum is a great host for archaeological values, and it also supports archaeological research. Furthermore, the museum grew over time until it became Maine’s only Smithsonian Affiliate museum in 2013.

The Mount Desert Island Historical Society runs the Sound Schoolhouse. They established the School in 1892 and served as a school for 34 years, until 1926. Between 1926 and 1999, it served as a community center where people could go dancing and attend various local events.

Their menu only features the freshest ingredients, and everything is prepared in-house. Great Maine Breakfast does not serve frozen sausages.

For those with dietary restrictions, gluten-free and vegan options are also available. Oatmeal pancakes with walnuts are a standout among their limited menu options.

Great Maine Breakfast has made it a goal to continue to expand its gluten-free menu options, so keep an eye out for new entree options to be added to the menu.

2. 2Cats Restaurant

2Cats has been in Bar Harbor for more than 20 years. It is located Down East Magazine and quickly became a Bar Harbor restaurant staple.

It’s a popular tourist destination that serves between 300 and 500 breakfasts per day during the peak season. They are well-known for serving fresh seafood as well as one of the best breakfasts in Bar Harbor.

Chocolate peanut butter pancakes, homemade granola, and traditional breakfast menu items are available. Everything, even the orange juice, is made from scratch. Your orange juice will be freshly squeezed for your enjoyment. Almost everything is served on a small plate.

The relaxed atmosphere may bring back memories of your childhood home. The walls are a salmon-pink color, fitting for the nearby coastline.

Too bad they are only open for breakfast and only at certain times of the year. They are open from January to September and only on weekends in January and February.

4. Havana

Do you enjoy classic American seafood? Because that is the only food available. If you think seafood isn’t nice or tasty, Havana will gladly prove you wrong.

To create quality meals with a Latin flair, they use fresh seafood and naturally raised meat products. Naturally raised meat has not been fed steroids, antibiotics, or hormones.

They are raised in a humane manner. It’s a value they care deeply about, and customers appreciate it. They work with several local farms for meat and have their own organic garden for produce. 

The organic garden is located in downtown Bar Harbor. Not many other places take their food as seriously as Havana. Not many other restaurants can say the same about the food served at Havana.

5. Cafe on Side Street

The café has a warm, relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for families, casual lunches, and professional dinners. It’s a laid-back atmosphere that welcomes anyone looking for a tasty bite of fresh seafood or other delectable meals.

Their menu changes seasonally. You can expect it to change depending on the season. They do this to ensure that they are only using the freshest ingredients available at the time.

They’re the ideal spot for inventive comfort food. Side Street Cafe serves everything from seafood to steaks to hamburgers to Tex Mex dishes. Customers appreciate the restaurant’s diverse menu and high-quality service.

The drink menu, like the menus, is rotating and seasonal. Cocktails, beers, and wines all evolve with the seasons. This keeps the restaurant’s menu fresh and new, allowing you to have a new dining experience with each visit.

6. Jordan’s Restaurant

Do you enjoy blueberries? Jordan’s Restaurant is the best restaurant in Bar Harbor for Blueberries. They serve the incredible Wild Maine Blueberry Muffin and the same style pancakes.

The entire restaurant is centered on wild Maine blueberry products. While they have evolved to serve food that does not contain blueberries, they make an effort to provide as many delicious meals that do.

Don’t worry if you slept in. Jordan’s Restaurant serves both breakfast and lunch. You’ll be able to eat as many blueberry pancakes and muffins as you want at any time.

The only drawback is that, like many other Bar Harbor restaurants, they are only open during the summer. Due to a lack of tourists, they are not open during the off-season.

7. Rose Eden Lobster

The Rose Eden Lobster is a great place for quick seafood without sacrificing quality. Rose Eden Lobster, formerly known as the Travelin Lobster, is now a takeout lobster shack. 

They serve ready-to-eat lobster as well as live Maine lobsters if you need to take one home quickly. They also deliver to local campgrounds, motels, and cottages as an added bonus. They’re the ideal solution for a hungry stomach on the go.

Rose Eden is located just north of Bar Harbor and is ideal for those who are traveling and visiting nearby attractions.

Whale watching, kayaking, bicycling, the Atlantic Brewery, Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf, a drive-in theater, and, of course, the beautiful Acadia National Park are all nearby activities.
